WasteMET Asia Symposium 2017.
Organised by WMRAS and SingEx Exhibitions, the biennial symposium will be a 2-day conference and exhibition held from 19 – 20 October 2017 at Singapore EXPO, Hall 2B. Themed “REINVENT: Transform the Industry”, will explore technologies and digital trends to transform businesses models and processes, improve productivity and deepen enterprises capabilities. With the success of the past three editions, this year’s symposium we are expanding the exhibit element and is expecting to gather over 500 business owners, technology and solutions provider, policy influencers and young entrepreneurs whom can contribute to drive innovations and enhance the sector’s infrastructure from Singapore and through our Asia Pacific Alliance.
The effects of aging population and ever increasing appetite for better services are putting immense pressure
on our existing infrastructure. The rise in standard of living among citizens creates the need for more
applications and services. These new changes will propel countries to attain developed nation status. The Asia
Pacific Smart Cities forum is a platform where various sectors converge to explore new business opportunities
and take the lead in the smart cities movement.
Addressing smart city funding. Who pays the bill?
“So long as there is a structure and there are people inside of it, that is where facility management has a role. We connect the facility with the people,” said International Facility Management Association (IFMA), Singapore Chapter, President Tony Khoo.
The misconception, though, is that facility management is just about cleaning and maintenance.
“That is only a small part of what we do. Our role is to support the requirements of our tenants, such as being able to maintain operations 24 hours a day without downtime. The operations are different for different types of buildings and a facility manager will need to understand this,” clarified Tony.

In an increasingly transparent world where information flow is fast and limitless, it is extremely hard for organizations to withstand the onslaught of heightened expectations from an increasingly sophisticated, heterogeneous and demanding customer. Delivering great customer-experience (CX) is and will never be an easy task. As modern consumers demand and expect more, organisations need to be agile, flexible and resourceful in order to keep pace with changing needs.
With that in mind, the agenda this year will equip you with just that! We reviewed what it meant to be customer-centric in the digital age. We investigated effective omni-channel strategies and how to better capture your customers’ voice. We explored leveraging big data and digital technologies to improve CX delivery.
